Aircraft Plastic Components - F-22 Fighter Program
The F-22 fighter aircraft is the Air Force standard, and the performance standard for the entire world. While many of the features are still classified, this low observance aircraft is truly amazing in its ability to inflict damage while protecting itself from potential dangers. Able to cruise without afterburners at one and a half times the speed of sound, it will outperform any aircraft currently on line and any that is in the planning stages of any country in the world. Spencer is proud to be a part of this program.
The cockpit air duct (shown above) is comprised of four polycarbonate thermoformed components that are CNC trimmed and assembled with metal brackets, air diffusion screens and metal reinforcement frames using both special adhesives and multiple rivets. Each air duct assembly is rigidly tested by both Spencer Industries and Lockheed prior to acceptance and installation in the aircraft.
