Job Description:

Responsible for in-depth troubleshooting and the repair, maintenance, and adjustment of all industrial production machinery and processing equipment, secondary trim equipment, mold shop machines and equipment, material handling and transfer equipment and building systems.  Must have the ability to recognize defects and possess problem-solving skills.  Responsible for the fabrication and installation of new and used machinery and equipment.  Observes mechanical devices in operation to locate source of trouble.  Inspects new parts to detect imperfections and used parts to determine reason for failure and/or necessary changes in dimensional requirements.  Repairs or replaces defective parts as necessary.  Responsible to insure proper compliance to safety and lock-out regulations, codes, and operating requirements.  May direct the activities and training of Maintenance Helper Trainees, and Preventive Maintenance job classifications.  Performs other work as directed.

All applicants will be required to take a Maintenance Aptitude test that will check basic maintenance knowledge of the Specific Duties listed below.

Specific Duties

  1. Must be able to read and understand blueprints, schematic diagrams, operating manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications
  2. Must have the ability to understand, troubleshoot, and install single and 3-phase electrical power, and controls circuits including 480 volt service using a digital multi-meter.
  3. Must have the ability to troubleshoot, install, and repair pneumatic and hydraulic circuits.
  4. Ability to fabricate metal using an acetylene torch and MIG welding techniques a plus.
  5. Understanding of PLC’s, troubleshooting. Program Logic, Circuits, and drives a plus.
  6. Understanding of common plumbing practices a plus.
  7. Understanding of Thermoforming and/or Extrusion operational process a plus.

Shift:  1st (6:30 am – 3:00 pm), 2nd (2:30 pm – 11:00 pm), 3rd (10:30 pm – 7:00 am)

2nd and 3rd Shift employees will also receive a $2.00/hr shift premium

Job Description:

Must have mechanical ability and be able to read, monitor, and understand various measures, gauges, and instruments. Must safely set up and operate rotary thermoforming machines and route formed parts on CNC routing machines when necessary. Must follow the Manufacturing Plan at all times.

Specific Duties

  1. Operate Rotary thermoforming machines in a safe manner.
  2. Complete all necessary paperwork for production.
  3. Monitor quality of parts per Manufacturing Plan.
  4. Ensure machine is running at the standard cycle time.
  5. Make heat/timing adjustments as necessary.
  6. Safely load and unload CNC routing machines.
  7. Pack finished goods for shipment.
  8. Perform any other work as directed per Supervision.
  9. Perform standardized work per the Manufacturing Plan’s Process Methods.
  10. Record pertinent data in real time monitoring system (IQMS).

Job Description:

Performs General warehouse and driving duties.  Must have the present skill and ability to operate various types of motor vehicles and forklift equipment.  A valid driver’s CDL-A license is required with an acceptable driving record with no DUI or DWI violations in the past two years. Must obtain a forklift-operation license.  Must be 21 years of age.  Duties include, but are not limited to, performing warehouse work, packing, pickup and/or delivery of various items to customers and vendors, and the transfer of items intra-plant and inter-plant.  May be required to perform other work as direct by supervisor. The work schedule may require some flexibility.  Must have computer skills.  Must complete work keys testing requirements.

Specific Duties

  1. Operates tractor/trailer and straight truck equipment for the transportation of goods between buildings and to other locations as required.
  2. Assists in the receipt of shipments at both warehouse locations.
  3. Assists in preparing shipments at both warehouse locations.
  4. Maintains all inventory locations in both W2 and Dale Wood.
  5. Assists Shipping and Receiving Clerk in daily requirements as needed.
  6. Competes inventory transactions in IQMS and RF Scanners.

Job Description

Observes mechanical devices in operation to locate source of trouble and potential improvements. Must be required to maintain drawings in CAD and produce new parts as part of project upgrades. Inspects new parts to detect imperfections and used parts to determine reason for failure and/or necessary changes in dimensional requirements.  Repairs or replaces defective parts as necessary.  Responsible to insure proper compliance to safety and lock-out regulations, codes, and operating requirements. Position may require travel to other Spencer Industries Facilities to be Project Manager for installation of machinery and oversee upgrades. Performs other work as directed.

  1. Responsible for the design, development, and implementation of Maintenance and Continuous Improvement projects
  2. Function as a Project Manager for Large Maintenance Projects
  3. Must have previous training and/or on the job experience with 3D CAD Software
  4. Must have to capability to communicate with outside vendors. May be required to go to the vendors and inspect components as part of project updates.
  5. Ability to install, repair, and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic circuits
  6. Ability to build Bill of Materials, monitor project costs, and be able to estimate costs based off of past projects.
  7. Must be familiar with thermoforming operational processes.

We have an opening for a 6S Assistant Coordinator. This position will be primarily responsible for managing assigned project list. Execute and assign projects to 6S team members and oversee project timelines and efficacies.

This position can progress up to pay grade 3A after 6 months, performance / skill based

Must be computer literate and knowledgeable of various types of plastic materials and their specific properties. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be provided and required per the Employee Handbook

  1. Analyze ways to improve the production process or flow of production
    1. Must be proficient in performing time studies of processes.
  2. Trouble-shoot production bottlenecks
  3. Special attention given to launch of new products
  4. Train hourly personnel in the use of machines and equipment, including all necessary safety precautions
  5. Work with Engineering, quality, and production on new and existing product development
    1. Must be able to develop new forming recipes

Perform a multitude of value added tasks using a wide array of tools, jigs, and fixtures per Supervision.  The plant helper will also be required to perform the second operator function inside a manufacturing cell for 2-person operations.

  1. Perform standardized work per the Manufacturing Plan’s Process Methods.
  2. Safely load and unload CNC routing machines.
  3. Pack finished goods for shipment.
  4. Serve as the second operator in the manufacturing cell.
  5. Operate a scrap grinder.
